Auburn Spartans Pop Warner Cheer and Dance
The “Auburn Indians” cheerleading program was introduced in 1963 under the direction of Frances “Sis” Nangle. Coach Nangle was ahead of her time. When many thought that only boys could be involved in athletics, she decided there was a place in the sports world for girls, too.
Now known as the Auburn Spartans, our cheerleading program is a part of the national Pop Warner Spirit program, providing kids an opportunity to perform in an organized, supervised, safety-oriented environment. The competitive program in Auburn is open to all youth, ages 3-13.
The Auburn Spartans cheerleading program is the proud home of the 1997 national champion dance team. The program also holds state and local titles in cheerleading, with the most recent CNY Championship wins in 2022 including: 1st place Varsity level 2, 2nd place Jr. Pee Wee level 1, and 2nd place Tiny Mite level 1 limited.
